Recently, Indian telecom company Reliance Jio announced that it will not offer free calling facility to the customer. Jio had announced that now users will have to pay an interconnect usage charge at the rate of 6 paise per minute for making calls from Jio number to other networks. He had said that users would have to pay this charge until TRAI imposes zero termination charge. Following the announcement by Jio, it was speculated that other telecom companies would also discontinue the free calling facility, but Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have clarified that they will not discontinue the free calling facility for their users.
Vodafone-idea, while giving information through his Twitter account, has clarified that he does not want to put any burden on his customers that they have to think about calling. vodafone-idea has also stated that no separate charges will be levied for making calls from vodafone-idea on any other network. The company says to enjoy what we promised you.
