One year ago today, 49 people were killed in the Pulse Nightclub due to radical islam. We remember the victims, while Reddit censored it all.

I stand with all Americans regardless of anything.

It was a sick and tragic day. I cannot describe how sad I was when I started reading about what had happened. This was one of the very first things I saw on reddit that day, as I normally would open it randomly to see what was going on. The information on donating to blood banks and helping victims was amazing, I was surprised people could be so kind and react so fast.

Something very sick that made the Pulse Nightclub shooting even worse was that reddit admins/mods were censoring posts about it. And by it I mean actual posts and links to Redcross blood donations and relief funds and other news/information...I couldn't believe it... How could any mod/admin censor information on the Redcross??? Now was not the fucking time to play politics and try to not offend someone or whatever the hell they were doing...

I was trying to read and learn about what was happening, and poof, comments and threads started to be deleted. It was on that day a few other subreddits had to rise to the occasion with. The_Donald was getting to the front page of /r/all with info and a few other subreddits that had nothing to do with the news(/r/pics I remember). I did what I could to help break the censorship of /r/all but got some banned from many subreddits on my account at the time.

The censorship was insane.

This is part of the main reason I don't got on reddit almost at all any more. The censorship and Nazi tactics used to squelch free speech are disgusting on reddit. I posted this here instead because I know mods in many subreddits will delete it. I have gay friends and family that I love and I think about them today a lot.

Thanks for taking the time to read through this small tribute/rant. Today lets all be nicer to each other, talk more and yell less :)

I like to be aware as possible and did not understand how much censorship is taking place of the big Red.. thanks for your post.

Yes. Reddit for awhile has been getting worse and worse. It drove me to look for a place that is more censorship resistant like here.

Amen... I posted a similar post @evanrvoss.... You just got a new follower.

Remembering PULSE #orlandostrong

I woke up this morning to a social media newsfeed filled with love, support, and remembrance for those lives taken in the Orlando, FL Pulse shooting exactly a year ago today. It is a tragedy that one never forgets where you were at that moment in time you hear of such a tragic event taking place in your own backyard. I remember waking up to phone calls, text messages, and tons of social media notifications surrounding the chaos that was circulating downtown Orlando. It is a moment that you stop and think, is this real? How could the biggest mass shooting in U.S. History be happening in my own backyard? June 12, 2016 will never be the same for millions of people.

Although I did not personally know anyone who was at Pulse nightclub during this tragedy, it was a tragedy that affected our entire community of Orlando. An act that was intended to take the lives of innocent people and promote hate for the LGBTQ community had an opposite effect on our society, especially Orlando.

As I was driving to work today every radio station was remembering and honoring the lives taken so suddenly that night. The broadcast was taking place at the Pulse site where community members gathered today in remembrance of the lives lost. Many people were sharing their connection to the shooting and how it has affected them. It was hard to keep back the tears as I listened. Another station I turned to was playing One Sweet day by Boys II Men and Mariah Carey. I thought to myself, "throwback, yes!"...until I started hearing the voices of those who survived this tragedy. The song was a remix filled with voices of people relating to the event who were there and survived through it, tears began pouring out. Listening to everyone speak about such a heinous act and supporting one another through it was so incredibly powerful. It made me feel proud to be part of a community that united together during a time of darkness. This day will never be the same for Orlando, but we are a community of fighters and I am proud to be a part of it. I have learned that life is about supporting one another regardless of your differences.

I love my city! #lovewins #orlandostrong #orlandounited

We are with you Evan.

Thank you but we are all with each other. One big family.... God Bless

people were saying that it was a hoax, that no-one died. videos of crisis actors and dummy bodies being carried away...

That was also truly sickening. I can't believe how crazy some people are sometimes with the conspiracies.

yeah, the media should be allowed to use crisis actors to help STAGE real terrorism to sell to the public. just sad

Oh I know for sure there are some crisis actors, don't get me wrong. I have seen the Syria Kid they put in the Ambulance and they are laughing, then they place the kid down and start taking pictures. That was sick.

yeah. a lot of weird shit with the nightclub shooting incident too. like the doctors who aledgedly took care of the victems didnt exist. or thier medical practices were created on google maps like the day after the shooting... weird shit... how the nightclub would have been closed for an hour at the time of the shooting because they cant sell alcohol after 2am... yet it was still packed at 3 am? ... IDK
