I really don’t get why some people like Patrick Klepek and the rest of the industry decided to become video game journalists. You don’t seem to like video games at all, neither do you like your audience. You even use gamer as an insult and find every opportunity to shit on your own audience. What are you doing here exactly? Go find a different job. So it comes as no real surprise when a random stranger on Twitter lies and states he is an Electronic Arts developer, who received death threats over the Battlefront 2 microtransaction backlash that the gaming press would jump on the opportunity to report on it. Websites like: WCCF Tech, Game Rant, For The Win, Screen Rant, and Fortune all reported this as a fact with really looking into it.

And I am I the only one who finds it rather suspicious how all these death threats happen every time there’s a significant PR disaster caused by a publisher or developers shitty anti-consumer practices. And how they use these threats to deflect a legion of legitimate complaints about their product? Gamers need to be wary of these types of reports even when the story IS real. If their only interest is telling you a story and they don’t care about the truth or bothered to do any research, then that means they have an agenda to push. Whenever you see someone use the excuse that a hoax like this is fine to report on factual as long as it sparks a discussion, that person is basically telling you straight to your face that: “I am a propagandist and I don’t care who knows it.”

As soon as these game journalists have a supposed victim to use that fits with their “gamers are inhuman harassers and need to be shamed” narrative they run with it. Video game journalists like Patrick Klepek tend not to side against big game publishers and developers, why? Well, why would you try and bite the hand that feeds you? And the irony behind this? This was brought to light by Jason Schreier of Kotaku of all people and website, a very rare moment where they actually do their fucken work. These fake death threats and news and how many websites came out in defense of Electronic Arts anti-consumer practices proves that now more than ever something like #GamerGate needed to happen.

And the biggest disappointment of this entire thing? Big gamer and YouTuber Boogie and for the record, I am still a fan of Boogie despite everything he said. Boogie here is some advice as a long time fan and gamer: Your compulsive fence sitting is your greatest strength and your greatest weakness. It will also be the one thing that would be your downfall. Not the trolls or the haters or your bad health, but the inability to pick a side and stand up for yourself and for gamers like me and you. Boogie you really need to grow a fucking backbone, instead of standing with us and the gamer community you decided to hang a “guilty” sign on all of us. Everyone is an individual and no I am not responsible for the actions of other gamers.
