If temperatures warm at expected rates, 80 percent of land in parts of Brazil and Central America currently used to grow the most popular type of coffee, Arabica, will become unsuitable to the crop by 2050, according to research by the International Center for Tropical Agriculture. Globally a 50 percent decline is predicted over the same period. The most likely outcome would be a drop in quantity and a rise in prices.

Also as pointed out to someone else earlier, in the 1970's MSM was promoting a "mini-ice age", including Walter Cronkite. We were all going to soon freeze to death. Le doom! =)

Yes, my father remembers hearing about that in the news. We don't know what's going to happen to the climate. I think it's unlikely that we're affecting things as much as some environmentalists say we are, but I have to agree with them that this is worth studying in case we are doing some damage. I just wish the media hype and fear mongering weren't so ridiculous.

I'm not saying I believe (or understand) everything being said about climate change, but this would really suck.
