During a preview event of Far Cry 5, Ubisoft has revealed that the latest game in the franchise will have microtransactions, but will only apply to cosmetic items, which will not interfere with gameplay.

Items such as weapons, character clothing and even vehicles can be purchased through silver bars, which can be purchased with real money, or even found in some outposts on the map of Hope County (the map of the game).
The company, however, has announced that the title will not have loot boxes.

Thanks once again! :D

in particular I have not played this game but I found it quite interesting so I'll play it

This game will be the more interesting of the last 3 Far Crys. My thoughts of course, because Ubisoft could make better games that they are really doing.

Cheers!

I find the mention of prestige weapons and vehicles troubling. Are they going to have the same stats as other weapons and vehicles? Or are they going to be more powerful? If it's the latter, they will lose sales from a lot of people. Myself included. And I was looking forward to this game...

Well...my thought is that the weapons will be more powerful. If we are paying for some cosmetic, weapons and stuff, of course, will be better...
And yes, they will lose on sales. They are not learning...EA is doing this stuff for years and the fans don't like. Microtransactions are ruining the games dude... 😤

The bigger issue is paid progression. You can't simply play the game to improve your character, you have to pay extra. I'll be honest, I'm probably going to be starting my kids with my old Genesis games rather than have them deal with this swill.
