Can Repealing Of Net Neutrality Change The Shape Of BLOCKCHAIN??

Internet neutrality is the principle that allows all internet traffic to be treated equally. Internet traffic includes all the different kinds of messages, files and data sent over the net. Mostly the messages include the emails and the files can be any either audio or video files. Each file is transferred irrespective of the identity of the sender .The file of a commoner is equally important and is sent with the same speed as compared to a an enormously earning business platform.

This is highly accepted and agreed upon by masses. The implementation of this brought a whole new revolution into the internet society.

Every user accessed a free and fair internet and every new idea got equal opportunity to reach the audience as the others.

Dating back to February 26, 2015

"Today's FCC decision will protect innovation and create a level playing field for the next generation of entrepreneurs--and it wouldn't have happened without Americans like you.

More than 4 million people wrote in to the FCC ,overwhelmingly in support of a free and fair internet. Countless others spoke out on the social media, petitioned their government ,and stood up for what they believe." -- Barak Obama

FCC voted in favor of net neutrality making the internet open and free. Millions of Americans stood up and made their voices heard in the right ways. On January 15,2014, a user creates a petition on the White House's We the People platform, petitioning the Obama administration to "Restore Net Neutrality By Directing the FCC to Classify Internet Providers as 'Common Carriers'." .The petition went on to be signed by 105,572 users. the petition received positive support from the white house and support built up over time.

With new leaders came new ideologies and the former law started being considered worn out and needing repealing. The FCC, led by Ajit Pai , voted to repeal the 2015 net neutrality regulations, giving the broadband providers rights of blocking or slowing down internet traffic and banned them from offering so-called fast lanes to companies willing to pay extra to reach consumers more quickly than competitors.

The main question that pops up into every brain is that whose decision could have a better outcome.

Obama's decision was however a result of public demand and aimed mostly public good. On the other hand Pai's alliance seemed to have thought only of the Internet service providers.

The repealing of net neutrality has affected the internet consumers in all possible ways . Although the repealing is said to be a democrats decision it doesn't seem to supported by many. While many people agree with the basic principles of net neutrality, the specific rules enforcing the idea have been a lightning rod for controversy. That's because to get the rules to hold up in court, an earlier, Democrat-led FCC had reclassified broadband networks so that they fell under the same strict regulations that govern telephone networks.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has called the Obama-era rules "heavy-handed" and "a mistake," and he's argued that they deterred innovation and depressed investment in building and expanding broadband networks.

The greatest concern is that the web will now progress toward becoming pay-to-play innovation with two levels: one that has speedy service and one that doesn’t. The high-speed lane would be occupied by big internet and media companies, and affluent households. For everyone else there would be the slow lane. The brand-name web organizations like Google, Facebook, Amazon and Netflix, experts say, will serenely have the capacity to pay the higher lease. It won't influence their business, however it might pleat their benefits. Staying away from higher costs is one reason the real web organizations have been champions of unhindered internet.

The lofty costing may be prohibitive for start-up companies and new voices in the media and entertainment worlds. The internet that once acted as a platform for newcomers would now close its doors to the newbies. With no level playing field, the very fabric of the internet startup and community corrodes.

This not all that the repealing might be affecting .

The latest and the highly growing blockchain industry too would have an adverse effect from it. Blockchain technology is completely decentralized as it stores data across its peer to peer eliminating the risks that comes with data being held centrally. There is nothing more anti-decentralized than having only one internet provider. Most of the cryptocurrency transactions are carried out via exchanges. With the repealing the ISPs hold the power of directly or indirectly targeting the exchanges. Even if the ISPs don't select to target the exchanges they can choose it for investments owing to the hyped popularity of the technology. This would lead to limiting the technology to their own benefits and blocking its access to their competition. They can also throttle connections provided to the blockchain websites and the UI of the blockchain based apps. Slowing down the API would have a direct effect on the entire application. There is no sense if an app works smoothly when your app store turns unusable.

The only way we could see the rise of blockchain when everything else is being affected is by adopting blockchain over the traditional ISPs. This would enable a large scale mesh network which are essentially decentralized.

Blockchain only holds the power to replace the most benefited association and using it to its own use.
