I imagine that the government wants block-chain based participation to help business, which is a good thing; however, I would guess that it does not want competition on its so-easy-to-inflate fiat currency. The exciting part of cryptos is that they should continue to increase in value rather than decreasing in value as is the case of the U.S. Dollar and all other fiat currencies.
