MILLER PARK

JEWEL OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
By: @paradise-found

Paradise Found at Miller Park

Miller Park, the baseball stadium named after a beer company in Milwaukee, WI, opened in 2001. This stylish stadium is where fans can relax, enjoying the game, a cold beverage, and the warmth of a summer day.
The rollicking experience starts with the tailgate parties in the stadium parking lot. Where baseball fans fans greet one another and grill their favorite foods prior to game-time. Once inside, the ballpark atmosphere is genuinely intoxicating. Every seat has a good view with easy access to vendors, making it obvious Miller Park was designed with the fan in mind. One more major advantage to baseball fans, weather is never a problem at Miller Park as the roof is not only attractive, it’s also an engineering masterpiece.

Miller Park stadium roof

Inside the stadium, the ceiling rises some 200 feet above second base. The roof covers more than 10.5 acres and is made of 12,000 tons of steel, but only takes about 10 minutes to completely open or close. While the stadium’s lid remains closed during the off-season, natural grass can still grow thanks to the stories-high windows.

Miller Park roof panels open to the night sky

At Miller Park a fan can't help but feel a reawakening of baseball's enchanted past. Intimate proximity to the players, the natural grass field, and a unique retractable roof separates this ballpark from any others in the world.

Enjoying the action from the bleacher seats

Sounds like a great venue for a ball game right? Here’s more, the stadium concession specialty, a sandwich called The Beast: A hot dog stuffed in a brat, all wrapped in bacon and topped with 'kraut and onions. And you can always wash it down with a ice cold Miller beer!

Usain Bolt Honoured in Ostrava, Czech Republic

By: @the23chronicles

The world's fastest man, Usain Bolt was honored at the IAAF World Challenge League 2017, Ostrava, Czech Republic.
The pied piper of men's athletics has not been really involved in much events this year, with widespread reports claiming he is hanging up his spikes after the World Championship this August.

He was involved in the 100m race on Wednesday at the Malda Boleslav Stadium. None of his major competition over the years were involved in the race, so it was almost certain that Bolt would win.

Bolt had a rusty start but with a strong finish, he was able to win the race at 10:07 seconds. He looked pretty comfortable and his closest challenger was Yunter Perez of Cuba.

Even though it's slower than his season best, 10:03 seconds, it can be considered a good race for Bolt, who isn't as fast as he once was due to his age.

Speaking after the race, he thanked the fans that came out to watch. He said: “You guys are the reason I keep coming back, thanks for everything”. When asked if he was happy with his time, he said: “Not happy with the time….. but should be fine, no worries”. After the race, Bolt got a standing ovation from the crowd and a special rendition of the Jamaican national anthem. There was fireworks after to complete the night. What an emotional night it was for the 8-time Olympic gold medalist. Next up for Bolt is the World Championship in London. This comes up in August. Will he retire after this season?? We will just have to wait and see

Lukaku and Rooney - A Swap Deal In The Making?

By: @mraldo

Romelu Lukaku is rumored to be on his way to Manchester, while Rooney seems set to go back to whence he came.

The rumors have been around for months, but in the last few hours they have intensified, and it seems this time it will actually turn into a reality. Lukaku joining the Red Devils looks like a matter of time, and Rooney will apparently be part of the deal.

According to many sources, the fee will be £75 million, plus £15 million in add-ons. That would make the Belgian striker the most expensive transfer so far this window, and that without counting the add-ons. A hefty price to pay, no doubt. However, there is reason for it, after all the player comes from a great season in which he netted 25 goals in the Premier League in 37 matches.

Arguments can be made that he is not worth that much, but the inflation in the last few years in the English league has been crazy, and that is one reason why Manchester United is paying so much.

But aside from the £75 million, Everton are supposed to get an old acquaintance back as well. None other than United legend Wayne Rooney; whose £10 million price tag is rumored to be waived so he can join his old team as a free transfer. That would effectively up Lukaku's price to £85 millions, which, with the add-ons, reaches Everton's original asking price for the player.

Wayne Rooney, who has been at Manchester United for 11 years; in which he played 559 matches, scoring 253 goals, winning several trophies, and breaking many records, has not been having his best time lately. The 31-year-old has no doubt been declining, and he is no longer Mourinho's plans for the red devils.

Regardless, Everton seen keen on getting him back home, back to where his professional journey started, holding hope his leadership and experience will be useful for the many youngster currently joining the club.

Lukaku used to be Chelsea FC's target, however, not that he seems a done deal for United, the blues have turned their gaze towards Morata; Manchester's original main target. With rumors of Torino's Belotti as well. Chelsea also had to say goodbye to one of its legends recently, when John Terry joined Aston Villa in the championship.

If both transfer go through, look out for a special on Wayne Rooney in The Daily SteemIt’s Next edition.

Providing Steemians with SteemGigs!

By: @thatsweeneyguy

As some of you know, there is a beautiful thing happening in our community around the hashtag #steemgigs. We plan to compete with services like Fiverr, by offering freelancers a fee-free alternative, that actually PAYS them for the mere effort of posting a service or request!

I’m @thatsweeneyguy, and I’ve been doing a lot of work for @steemgigs and others to organize and promote each and every one of them, and am excited to now be writing about the subject in @thedailysteemit!

Since we will only be publishing once per week to start, each publication will have a little bit of everything steemgigs wise. We’ll start with testimonials this time, so everyone gets a good look at how Steemit is bringing people together in unexpected ways.

I was recently able to sit down with @drpuffnstuff, and talk about his experience with steemit, and his success with a book donation steemgig he created, that rolled into him giving 70SBD for someone to build a “Little Free Library” Read that here

Read about how @airmatti won 100SBD for getting @ionlysaymeep to say something other than “meep”!

@aaronc88 sold a signed print of a picture he took at work to @raddog for 20 STEEM!

These kinds of testimonials are becoming commonplace in my feed, and I absolutely love it! Seeing people come together to help one another with simple or complex tasks or requests. Affecting the outside world in positive ways using the power of steemit!

Now… On to the meat n’ potatoes…

We have so many wonderful people here on steemit, and many of them have unique talents and/or skills, and are willing to trade their time for STEEM or SBD. Before long, there will be a website dedicated to the idea, and you will essentially be able to “window shop” products and services offered by other steemians, or even see work that someone else needs done, and be able to quickly offer your help. Fiverr takes an enormous percentage of the incoming money, but steemit lets you transfer money directly to another user both instantly and free.

I can only cover so many gigs in an article so varied, so I’ll simply give you some of the newest offers and requests that have come across my desk.

You can get an animated mascot for your steemit blog from @flauwy!

@thriveordie will be looking for many variably skilled steemians, as I will be crowdsourcing as much of my upcoming game with built in STEEM rewards. Artists, musicians, writers, and maybe one day even voice actors will be contracted for various parts of the game as development progresses.

People are offering things like Business Consulting, Keyword Research, Proofreading, Graphic Design, Audio mixing, Genealogy, and WAY more! It’s crazy the number of things you can spend your STEEM on, or earn STEEM by doing!

That’s all for now, if you like my writing, or my work, follow along @thatsweeneyguy!

@papa-pepper has already paid the 500 SBD.

Yes, a little out-dated haha we had a delay in our publication so things will be a bit more up-to-date going forward!

Yeah... The #steemgigs part was written about a week ago when that was still on-going. As publications become more frequent, the content inside will be only days old instead of a week+

Yes, that was on my end. Was having some technical difficulties :)

It is not too late to correct the post. You can do that up to 7 days after it has been posted.

Took it out! :)

Totally epic post my friend!

Thanks!

Sure can! I regularly write posts that compile #steemgigs by category. If you've got any questions about how it all works, come chat with us on the @steemgigs Discord Channel

This is a really welcome addition to the block, thanks @steemitqa, @the23chronicles, @mraldo, @thatsweeneyguy, @businesswri, and @pardise-found for creating this!

Being part of the recent influx of new users over the past month or so, I've been somewhat concerned about people's continued engagement after this Steemitmoon wore off, due to the sheer volume of uncurated stuff newbies can initially get exposed to, and possibly lost in and/or turned off by.

A cultivated news-e-paper, of sorts, for Steemians, such as @TheDailySteemIt, will hopefully serve as part of the antidote against a surge in dead NoOb followers that would have occurred in a month or so otherwise, if they can find it.

This combined with @Steemgigs is really making people want to hang around...

So upvoted, commented, and re-steemed by me, for whatever little that's worth!

Thanks for the support @enjar! I'm happy to see this first publication gaining so much traction! I do a ton of promotion work for #steemgigs, and very much enjoy my manual curation, and helping minnows find some friends!

Oh, hell yeah! It's finally out! Thank you so much for the opportunity to spread the word about @steemgigs!

Thanks @thatsweeneyguy never thought I would see it out! thanks for being patient.

Nice start. Shame you have an entertainment section though, cheapens the report in my opinion. But of course could turn into the most read section of your blog, so don't believe my free advice is worth any more than you paid for it

STEEM On!!

Dave

Hello @davebrewer,

No, we want feedback! We were thinking of doing a break up of the publication into two parts: an a.m and p.m version so late-night could be the entertainment section. Again, thanks for the feedback!

That WOULD be cool! And of course, more publications means higher wages for all your writers wink wink

Yes, I agree , wink, wink.

dun dun dun.... writers come out of the steemitverse -- you said work?

To anyone who has taken the time to read this, Thank you.

Consider this is only a teaser, though. There is more to come and we have big plans here at @thedailysteemit!

Look out for the next editions. There will be much more interesting content as we grow.

And contests! There will be many contests in the future. So stay tuned!

I agree @mraldo :) !

A lot more coming down the pipeline and the contests sounds like a great idea! we shall discuss!

Love this! Our very own newspaper lol :-)

Yes sir! This is the idea. More topics will be added. Did you have a certain one you liked?

@ionlysaymeep said something other than meep. That's new to me!

Great work on our first edition, guys. Looking forward to a thousand more.

Also, a thank you to everyone who is making this possible. I'm glad to be part of this project.

Okay, hi thedailysteemit.

I write on a Steemit service project. Can you do me a favour and reply to this message with a either "@username" or "?username" (with any username, and nothing else)? Only ever second username will work at the momemt, though. Thanks!

Hello @qed,

@thedailysteemit . Does this work?

Well thedailysteemit,

ello @qed,

@thedailysteemit . Does this work? isn't really a steemer username.

Well clevercreator,

thedailysteemit isn't really a steemer username.

Sorry, I made a mistake. Try again.

Well clevercreator,
Sorry but I don't have thedailysteemit in my database.

Okay, sorry, that one is in the half of the data I haven't got yet >.<
You could try another name. THanks anyway!
