In Algeria Berber communities demanding state fundings to promote and preserve their indigenous language, there are already several protest done this week in the northern reagion of the country.

The protest started after when the member of parliament rejected Tamazight language in local schools.

Many students and other activists started protesting against this decision, according to them this is the state's wider rejection of the language and identity of its Berber citizens.

"The popular masses are starting to protest" because they "reject the fact that [the state] is marginalising a mother tongue" like Tamazight, said Hamamouche, a member of the local coordination committee for students at Bejaia.

A mass of protestors blocked the road in Bouira province and many clashes between protestors and securities earlier this week.
