How To Know If You Are Living In A Mass-Hysteria Bubble

in news •  8 years ago

Scott Adams has released a new article about the Mass Hysteria you currently see (that has reached a fever pitch following last weekend's events) explaining how ridiculous our current state of affairs really is, particularly related to Charlottesville.

My favorite quote:

If you are inside the mass hysteria bubble, you probably interpreted President Trump’s initial statement on Charlottesville – which was politically imperfect to say the least – as proof-positive he is a damned racist.

He also breaks down signs of cognitive dissonance...oversized reactions (for not condemning the attacks in the exact right way), insulting others without supporting arguments, confirmation bias (Trump is a racist, therefore not condemning the Neo-Nazis in the right way or fast enough, etc. is just more proof he's a racist) and a few others.

Well worth a read. Trump is far from perfect but the criticism he's getting for Charlottesville and condemning both sides is ridiculous, especially for those who haven't seen the videos of the tragic protest.
