History has always been written by the winners. We’ve seen this throughout human civilization—empires rise and rewrite the past to make themselves look good. The voices of the defeated often disappear, and what remains is a version of history shaped by those in power.
Take recent times, for example. President Donald Trump has been known to call out what he labels as "fake news," but he's also been documented making numerous false or misleading statements himself.
Now, in the age of AI, this issue has leveled up. The people in control of tech can flood the world with whatever version of history they want, on a scale we’ve never seen before. Governments, corporations, and whoever’s got the biggest megaphone can pump out biased stories faster than we can fact-check them. So, how do we make sure future generations don’t just inherit a bunch of well-packaged lies?
I come to Steemit for the answer, is it possible to record our history on Chain that we can ensure the truth?
I know this is too complicated (even the judgement for truth and fake is hard). But we've already have a good practice - Wikipedia. Anyway there are still a lot to be improved for wikipedia like the centralized record, people can always change and put in fake information(not a way more and more close the truth, but a endless going around in circles).
I don't have an answer, but I hope there is...
