Austria’s largest energy provider, Wien Energie, has developed a blockchain-driven fridge in partnership with tech giant Bosch.
Each kilowatt of sustainable energy used by the fridge can be traced to its origin using blockchain tech. Wien Energie provides wind and solar power.
The fridge can also be controlled by smartphone, with the ability to adjust temperature of the fridge and freezer, check if the door is closed, and trace the energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
The fridge is not yet on sale. The main goal behind the project is to increase consumer interest in the sustainable consumption of energy.

Interesting but doesn’t actually seem that useful especially considering it will be real expensive.

The hope now, is to bring that technology to Canada. I have solar panels now but want to trace the power back for what my panels don’t cover.
