Moats were diagnosed with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH), a rare condition affecting only about 1 in 4,500 newborn infants.

According to the National Institutes of Health, this condition occurs when during the developmental period of the embryo, the female reproductive organs are not well developed.Consequently, the uterus and vagina do not form or are completely undeveloped.

In some cases, this condition can be treated without surgery. Patients will use dilators to make or widen the vagina that already exists. Vaginal dilators are a kind of plastic tube designed specifically to stretch and widen the vaginal tissues.

However. This condition can also be treated with vaginal or vaginal surgery. In the case of Moats, the next step is to perform reconstructive surgery with an estimated cost of 15,000 US dollars or about Rp 200 million that does not include insurance.

Her sister, Amanda Moats embarked on a GoFundMe page to raise funds for Moats to undergo surgery.Until August 17, GoFundMe managed to raise funds amounting to 16,997 US dollars or about Rp 227 million, exceeding their initial target.

"This operation will help me be normal and have body parts like other women," he said.
