Make America Great Again - Foxconn is considering building a 7 Billion Dollar Factory in the US

in news •  8 years ago

Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics maker, is considering setting up a display-making plant in the United States in an investment that would exceed $7 billion, company chairman and chief executive Terry Gou said on Sunday.

Gou said that Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, had been considering such a move for years but the issue came up when Foxconn business partner Masayoshi Son, head of Japan's SoftBank Group, talked to Gou before a December meeting Son had with Trump.

Son is pledging 50 Billion dollars of investment in the United States and Gou said the 7 Billion dollar plant would create 30,000 to 50,000 jobs.

These are only pledges and nothing has been set in stone but just the talk about moving jobs from Asia back to the US is huge news. This is 100% result of Trump being a strong leader and talking to these business leaders around the Globe.

Please bear in mind that Foxconn is the slave labor company that makes iPhones in China. The factory with the suicide nets.

so let's not buy their shit......they'll go out of business....the power now lies in the hands of the consumers...it can only be on us....

Yup, I know that but not sure the point you're trying to make.

Do you think they'll have suicide nets in America?

Who knows. Not likely, but at some point, suicide nets could be possible. My point is just to have caution when seeing what at first sight appears to be good news.

Ya that's understandable coming from a company with a poor human rights record but remember it's not just Foxconn making the pledge. Several other Asian companies have pledge to create jobs in the US. I've never seen this kind of talk in my entire life. It's always been the opposite.

That's true and will be interesting to watch.
