Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has resumed his interest in the Dutch centre-back despite Anfield chiefs having to apologise to Southampton for their pursuit.

The German sees Van Dijk, 25, as the ideal man to fix the defensive issues which blighted his side last season.

CHELSEA have jumped ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Virgil van Dijk with a £60million bid.
