IMF The fundamentals of the global economy are strong despite market volatility
The recent volatility in markets will not change the Fund's view that fundamentals of the global economy are still strong, and a downward correction to the market was probably inevitable given the surge in asset prices, the IMF's chief spokesman said on Thursday.
"Despite the volatility of the past few days, we believe that the financial situation is still supportive of economic growth," Rice told a weekly press conference of the IMF.
"We expect the global economic recovery to continue."
