The United Nations General Assembly rejects Trump's decision to transfer the US embassy to Jerusalem and considers it null

By an overwhelming majority, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted at its emergency meeting this evening a resolution in which it affirmed that any decisions or actions intended to alter the character, status or demographic composition of the City of Jerusalem have no legal effect and are null and void and should be rescinded in compliance with the relevant Security Council resolutions.

The results of the vote were supported by 128 States, while 9 States voted against it, including the United States of America and Israel, as well as the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Togo, Palau, Honduras, Guatemala and Nauru. Thirty-five countries abstained.

Yemen, Turkey and Venezuela, as well as the Palestinian government, have called for this emergency meeting on Jerusalem.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki addressed the international community ahead of the vote on the draft resolution today, stressing in his speech that Jerusalem is the main key to peace and security in the region and that Trump's decision is only an attempt to inflame religious feelings and ignite a religious war in the region. Serves the occupying entity in passing its colonial plans, and called on the world to vote in favor of the resolution if they are supporters of peace.

But the representative of the United States of America has stuck to the threat language she has adopted since the last Security Council session, and has threatened that she will not forget the day they stood together against the United States of America, and that her country is resentful that the United Nations does not appreciate United States assistance. To meet their good intentions with respect rather than attack.

The spokesman of the occupation entity considered the meeting humiliating, and that Jerusalem has been since the recognition of the Prophet and even today, the eternal capital of the occupying entity, stressing that today's decision will not affect the reality that the Palestinian Authority is trying to rig it and distract the international community, .

On behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Turkish representative spoke about the right of the Palestinian people to achieve their destiny and to live in peace and security, and that this vote is very important, as a clear expression of the Palestinian people that it is not alone. Trump's decision threatens cultural diversity in Jerusalem, and every threat the United States makes to countries that support the Palestinians' right to their capital is a political bullying. "Being strong does not mean that you are right," he said.

The representative of Venezuela, speaking on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement, expressed his indignation at the Trump decision and the practices of the occupying entity against the Holy City, considering all that was taking place on the ground null and void and that Jerusalem was an inalienable part of the Palestinian State, For their just cause.
