In early January, The Investor suggested that the Galaxy S8 would be present at MWC 2017 and that was indeed the case. As the Korea Herald reveals today, Samsung took advantage of the show to unveil a prototype of its next smartphone exclusive to its partners and mobile operators around the world.
The festivities took place last week at the Hotel Porta Fira, a few blocks from the Fira Gran Via where the 2017 edition of Mobile World Congress was held. In the lobby of the hotel, Samsung had taken care to install several demonstration and meeting rooms, hidden behind a temporary wall intended to prevent visitors or guests of the hotel from discovering the Galaxy S8 before the " hour.
Some of the Samsung partners on the scene were then interviewed by the local media as part of a report and said they were "very impressed" by the next Korean flagship smartphone they had the chance to discover before everybody. They unfortunately did not reveal any technical detail on the device, being for the moment kept to secrecy.
Nevertheless, despite all the precautions that it seems to have taken this year to maintain the mystery around its next flagship, Samsung has not managed to avoid leaks. At the end of the morning, a full grip of the Galaxy S8 and S8 + made its appearance on Chinese social networks.
