Rainstorm kills at least 72, injures more than 100 in India

An effective rainstorm has cleared parts of north and western India, causing house breakdown, toppling trees and leaving no less than 72 individuals dead.

Alleviation chief Sanjay Kumar says the decimation is especially extreme in Agra, the northern Indian city where the white marble landmark of Taj Mahal is found. He says 36 individuals kicked the bucket there on Wednesday night as the breeze speed touched 130 kilometers (80 miles) every hour. A few people additionally were murdered by lightning.
