[This was sent to me in Discord at 7:07 pm]
An update to what is happening here now. The "negotiations" have been canceled.
Ortega doesn't want to discuss anything today, has been stalling since he asked to begin talks again.
The people were looking for a sign of good faith and had asked that he release the political prisoners.
His half hearted attempt was to beat about 100 prisoners, load them in vans in the
middle of the night and drop them at their homes under house arrest.
They will be having a day in court soon, where they will be found guilty as charged and
sentenced to ridiculous jail terms of 100's of years.
Last month two farmers were sent tended to 230 years each.
In response to the breach goodwill, there was a nation wide call to protest today.
This is against the new laws enforced by the MIT (Ortega's private goon squad).
It would be safe to say that all hell broke out.
I can hear the mortars from where I live.
And I assume the same is taking place across the country.
We have heard reports that an order has been given,
approximately 40 minutes ago,
that people have 2 hours to vacate the streets under threat of jail or being shot.
The way the goon squad has been working, there could be a lot of blood spilt in the streets.
Our day started out with the power and water being shut off at 6:00 am.
Everyone is inside until we know it is safe to poke our noses out.
We are set for supplies until the end of the month, then we will have to venture out.
I am typing this using my off grid power.
How long the power will be out is anyone's guess.
We hope not as long as Venezuela.
We have sufficient water for a while. We have 12500 gallons in reserve tanks.

Daniel Ortega’s police went “with everything” on Saturday against an attempt at a peaceful demonstration in Managua. From early in the morning, downtown streets and roundabouts were overflowing with riot police with their war rifles.
When people began to arrive to participate in a march scheduled for 2 p.m. to demand the total liberation of the 700+ political prisoners, the uniformed began to attack and abduct the demonstrators.
At the same time they attacked national and international journalists covering the event. They beat them and stole or destroyed their equipment.
Below is a partial list of the detainees published by La Prensa.com.ni. The fate of these Nicaraguans is still unknown.

“The release of the political prisoners is decisive for making progress in the negotiation process with the Government,” said AmCham’s President and full delegate of the Civic Alliance, Mario Arana, after leaving the ninth round of negotiations on Thursday.
Arana explained that the Civic Alliance decided to return to the table, from which it had withdrawn last Sunday, to end “with the excuses of the Government to release the political prisoners.”
“That is why we decided to return to the table with a clear and definite purpose, which reflects the general feeling of Nicaraguan society,” he said.
He affirmed that during the resumption of the negotiations, this Thursday, they discussed with the Government’s negotiators the “processes to release the prisoners and the mechanisms to ensure that purpose.”

In an attempt to prevent reporting of the police violence against peaceful protestors the Ortega riot squads also attacked journalists trying to cover the protest march on Saturday, reports La Prensa.
French Press (AFP) reporter Luis Sequeira had his camera taken and smashed to pieces.
Among the arrested are: Max Jérez, Mildred Rayo, Luis Alfredo Vallejos, Azahalea Solís, Ana Margarita Vigil, Humberto Belli, Sandra Ramos, Mónica Baltodano, Víctor Corea, Rosalinda López Miranda, Helena Hendrix, Julieta Martínez, Jorge López, Jessica López, María José Castillo Salaverry y Virginia Anadir Castillo, reported La Prensa.
The reporters of different national and international media are held up at the LaFise bank building with dozens of threatening police patrols surrounding the building.
