When Bobby Feldstein was 14 years old he was taken from his house in Portland, Oregon, by strange, suited figures and later woke up in an underground tunnel far from home. This, at least, is what he claims. His abduction, he says, was related to a mysterious and instantly addictive video game named Polybius that appeared out of nowhere at selected arcades across Portland and made its users feel woozy and unwell. In the 35 years since, and in the face of general disbelief, Bobby’s version of events hasn’t wavered. He has spent much of that time searching for the one person — a boy, roughly his age, who helped him escape — who he believes can corroborate his story.
