Universal basic income? Why don't we make it law that everyone that turns 18 serves an 8 year term of sevice where they are trained in fields where their natural talent was made best use of. Of coarse you could also choose to study some fanciful subject, but you wouldn't have to wait tables when it does't pan out. While you are serving around the world you will be earning a crypto to live on and start a life with along with a wealth of knowledge and hands experience.

UBI is always an interesting concept to think about but I still doubt the practicality of incorporating it. There are just TOO many people who don't fully understand it and view it as lazy or "taking advantage" in some way. Most people refuse to acknowledge that not everyone is dealt the same hand in life and that others have it much easier. I can definitely see both sides to the debate with no crystal clear idea of a good middle ground. All in all, I like the idea of UBI but I unfortunately don't see it taking place in the next 10 years at the rate the debate is currently moving.
