I thought we would break the mould and spend New Years in a non-freezing or rain stricken country this year.
Having arrived yesterday, @bingbabe in a bad state after drinking too much Prosecco on the plane we completely vetoed the fireworks last night and went to bed.
While they woke me up at midnight, all I could hear next to me was snores. Some people just sleep through anything.
We just got turned away from breakfast with an animated cook explaining to us in Spanish that it’s delayed for an hour due to everyone being pissed with hangovers.
At least that’s what my rudimentary Spanish told me, it could well have been something else.
Today is going to be a chill out day as almost everything will be closed. Tomorrow the adventures start and we travel.
While I have brought a laptop with me, todays effort is just a free write with esteem mobile.
I’m now waiting for @bingbabe to complete her morning run before we infiltrate the breakfast room again.

I think your Spanish is spot on there.
The damn fireworks woke me up too. I didn't get out of bed, but it sounded like someone messed up - a few bangs, then a massive crescendo, and then about 6 minutes of a few more bangs and pops every few seconds, sounds like someone may have set the finale off at the beginning.
It's a typical overcast day here in Hereford, probably the same a few miles north! I think you've got the best of it over there.

No. We decided to stay on Malta this time. We're in the South and mostly exploring the west coast. It's more like Gozo here. Lots of farmland and pretty villages etc. Doing lots of walking and picnicing over looking the sea. Very nice indeed!

The spooky village one? It's Popeye's village. A film set from a 1980s film. I've seen it a number of times from the road on the way to the Gozo ferry but this is the first we've taken a closer look.
Not sure we'll have time now. My 89 year old mum is staying with us for a few days and we go home the day after she returns to Gozo.
We'll definitely be back to this side of the island though and there are still loads of things on my list to visit. We just couldn't resist the walking this time as the weather's been so good to us. 😁

I tend not to mix drinking and flying, but then I don't drink much anyway. At least she still went running. I have just done my second of the day/year. Have a great time there. I think @adetorrent was there recently, so he may have suggestions of where to go.

I can't either, but our state used to have much stricter laws about fireworks, so that was probably part of it. It has only been in the past ten years or so that mortar style fireworks have become legal.
