Well everyone, 2017 is nearly gone and it ain't coming back. It's been an interesting year, an active year. Is it just me, or is the world changing at a faster rate with each passing year? It's beginning to feel like this is true not only in the world, but in my personal life, too.
It's strange to think that a mere three years ago I would have had no clue about what a blockchain was or how cryptocurrency worked. Just two years ago no one would have been able to tell you what Steemit was. Just six months ago the idea of Bitcoin being acknowledged any time in the near future by Wall Street or major governments would have been laughable.
But here we are.
And my bet is, the next six months will be even crazier. That's right. Just six months from now, I think things might be even more different than they were in the past year. And I don't just mean in the realm of Steemit. Crypto and blockchain are hardly the only paradigm shattering technology on the horizon.
Things are changing in all sorts of interesting ways in the realms of medicine, AI, transportation, VR/AR, space travel, and all kinds of others that are probably brewing in the background without landing on mainstream radars, yet. Considering this, it seems like the six months from now might be even harder to imagine now than it was at the beginning of 2017.
I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on what 2018 would look like. Comment and let me know how you think the next 12 months will shape up.

The post is coming along. In retrospect, I probably shoulda made the progress bar increase in increments of 5, not 10. Ah well. It's shaping up slowly but surely.

I know we are all focused on cryptos here, but you're right, there are so many different technologies that will be changing the world in 2018 that we all need to pay attention to.
With that being said, hopefully Steem continues to rise :).

Agreed on both points. I think we're all pretty much obsessively keeping an eye on Steem. Lol.

Well we are all "invested" to an extent just by being here. Whether it be a financial investment or time investment. At least the time investment is really enjoyable here since you get to read great content everyday.

Yes, it sure is intereting times. Blockchains have to potential to change many industries and of course unemploy alot of people. I believe the universal basic income will be brought up for serious discussion as it will effect the upper and middlle class. Crispr is also an interesting technology which i believe we will be hearing lots more about.
