not hard to imagine...I come from West Texas...we use a chain tied to an anvilas a wind gauge there. depending on how many links of the chain is horizontal let's us know how fast the wind is blowing.
If the anvil blows away..it was a HIGH WIND.

No, that doesn't tell me much but it certainly raises more questions, such as: Are existing wind farms in and of themselves profitable? Under what set of circumstances could wind farms be profitable in and of themselves? How do the entitites doling out the subsidies profit from subsidizing wind farms?
