As much as Jack Steel wanted to deny it, Lieutenant Rafalski's arguments were hard to evade. Jack did not want to see the Genesis Starfleet divided, and perhaps even engaged in some kind of civil war. He could not help but remember the admonitions of his father, warning him to stay away from the Officer's path. For Admiral Oliver Steel, it would only lead his beloved son straight into the tentacles of war. In the end, he was right, and Jack felt a sense of guilt for not having listened to the wisdom of a father who only wanted the best for his son. The Nemesis Season was turning out to be more than what Jack had bargained for as an Admiral. But what had been done, had been done, and Admiral Steel now had to walk the walk, and face the very destiny he had created with the choices he had made thus far in life.

Lieutenant Rafalski was naturally excited to have Jack Steel walking by his side, as they made their way through the corridors of the Base, heading for the Shipyard. The Lieutenant sent signals to his men as he passed, and they in turn sent the message forward, "Admiral Steel was joining the movement!"

By the time the two leaders reached the Shipyard, it was filled with men waiting to take flight towards the Yamato. Over the communication systems could be heard messages from Genesis5 and 6, that the other Yamatos were also filling up with new recruits. There was no turning back now, and the future was greatly uncertain!

Jack hopped into a Scout Athene, and took off towards the sky.

Much to his surprise, when Jack exited his ship, he found Johnathan Maxwell standing before him. The two embraced like long lost brothers.

  • Jack, I'm really sorry about the situation you find yourself in!

Don't worry, John, I'm just glad you're okay. You were there for me when I went through my dark night of the soul; now it's my turn to stand by your side.

  • Thanks, my good friend! But this one is not going to be easy.

Are they ever easy?!

  • I suppose not. Has Lieutenant Rafalski updated you on everything?

Enough... I don't know if he's given me everything, but he's given me enough. What's the plan?

  • For now, we're going to rendezvous with the other Yamatos at Genesis5. From there we set a coarse for Genesis1. You have to avoid all communications, Jack. We don't want anyone to know that you are here with us.

I'm sure that you have already imagined that I am completely against what's going on here!

  • I figured that much, Sir. But let's see what happens, and let's pay attention to the mood of the crew. We'll work this out together!

I have a really bad feeling about this, John!

  • You're not the only one!
