With my home team Cleveland Browns making history as only the second team to go 0-16 in a season, I decided to do a quick 3 round mock draft to breakdown who they could, and should, in my opinion, go after this coming April. I am using First-pick.com to do my mock, and sometimes they let guys slide that I don't think really would, but it's a good tool overall.
Round 1 Pick 1
Josh Rosen, QB UCLA
This pick is completely contingent on Josh being cleared medically, since he has had some shoulder and concussion concerns recently. IF he checks out, I think he is the most pro-style QB in this class. He is accurate, and throws with anticipation. I would not be surprised to see Baker Mayfield taken here, even after his playoff loss to Georgia. There are several other QBs in the mix, including Sam Darnold, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen
Round 1 Pick 4 (from HOU)
Minkah Fitzpatrick, FS Alabama
To me, this is a no-brainer. If Minkah is here, he needs to be the pick, and can change the face of our defense. He can play nearly anywhere on the field and excel. Great instinct and IQ, with athleticism to match. Many will be clamoring for Saquon Barkley, but you don't take a RB in the top 5 if you are bad team. This year's RB crop is really good, and deep.
Round 2 Pick 1
Courtland Sutton, WR SMU
Incredibly surprised to see him here, many have Sutton as the #1 receiver in the draft. This would be a steal to pair with Josh Gordon. Courtland has a big body, and loves going up and fighting for balls in the air.
Round 2 Pick 4 (HOU)
Bryce Love, RB Standford
Here we pick up Isaiah Crowell's upgrade. Love has instant speed from the RB position, and can break long runs at any given time.
Round 2 Pick 30 (PHI)
Kevin Tolliver, CB LSU
This is a position we desperately need upgraded, and Tolliver fits the bill nicely. He likes to play press/man coverage, something the Browns didn't do this year, because our coaches didn't think we had the players for. If Kevin can step in and make an impact, it will help Myles Garrett increase his sack numbers as well.
Round 3 Pick 1
Anthony Miller, WR Memphis
As much as I feel like I need to pick OL or DL, I love Miller's game. It was just too hard to pass on him. This kid can be special at the next level, and the Browns can go into next season with a lot of weapons for their new QB.
Let me konw what you think, feel free to post your own mocks below!
In my dreams they pick up Kap.
