Before the NFT auction, K11 Art Mall in Hong Kong collaborated with 9Gag to bring memes to life in the world's first meme museum. Made up of seven themes, the Meme Museum showcases over 100 global and local viral memes that showcase famous images from different time periods in a variety of formats, including visual, 3D figures, and scent.
The first exhibit is called “The Meme Timeline” and features 24 classic memes dating from the 60s to the present. Visitors can get their favorite breast tattoos done at the Memeingful Tattoo Station, and also purchase one of the first 1000 copies of a limited-edition meme board game to be released as a museum-only.
The Meme Museum will be open until September 5 at K11 Art Mal.
