FC Barcelona's first NFT set sold for $693,000 at Sotheby's auction in New York on Friday.

The group, titled Somehow, Immortal, celebrated its late legendary player, Johan Cruyff, who passed away in 2016.

Barcelona's first NFT was created in memory, and a celebration of one of its best and most legendary players of all time, Dutch international, Johan Cruyff.

To illustrate, the NFT itself was a 40-second audiovisual piece that aesthetically recreates, in a molten golden animation, a goal scored by Cruyff in a match against Atlético Madrid in 1973.

The piece was created and animated by a team of 40 computer graphics and visual effects artists based in Hollywood.

The winner of the auction, who becomes the owner of NFT, will receive a large number of advantages. The winner will be appointed as a digital ambassador for the Catalan Club.

Plus, they'll get access to training courses, and "money can't buy" experiences.
