No one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is. This is one of the central mysteries of the cryptocurrency industry. To recognize his contribution to the birth of the Bitcoin ecosystem, BitBTC.money is creating a series of Satoshi Nakamoto avatar NFTs that will live in the metaverse. These in turn are being designed to pay tribute to other important Bitcoin contributors.
The core members of BitBTC met Minhua Ouyang (Bonnybb.eth) in New York, where they learned she had started creating NFTs in July 2019 and was one of the earliest NFT creators in the city. After brainstorming with BitBTC team members, she decided to create the Satoshi NFT project.
Ouyang (@bonnybbeth) is a serial blockchain entrepreneur, NFT creator and metaverse architect. She has both a bachelor’s of architecture and an MBA degree. As well as being a co-founder of BitBTC, she also co-founded the Blockchain International Business school.
How did your collaboration with BitBTC come about?
Last year, SNJ (@SatoshiNJunior) reached out to me. He is the founder of BitBTC. At that time, BitBTC had just started to develop, lacking funds and experience in operation and promotion. However, I saw the prospect of this project, so I decided to join the team and invested in the project.
I have worked hard on BitBTC's strategy and ecological construction. After the successful launch of BitBTC, I proposed that we must create an NFT that belongs to bitcoin believers and has commemorative value to pay tribute to all those who have contributed to bitcoin.
SNJ told me he wanted to create a Satoshi Nakamoto avatar for the bitcoin community. I was very excited about that! For bitcoin believers, Satoshi Nakamoto is an idol, but he has always been a mysterious existence, and no one knows who he is.
What is the overall concept of the Satoshi NFT?
We believe Satoshi Nakamoto is all around us and each of us who believes in bitcoin is Satoshi Nakamoto. In this limited collection, attributes of 12 outstanding bitcoin representatives will be combined and will generate 200 different Satoshi Nakamoto avatars by the algorithm. This is why we chose the domain name whoissatoshinakamoto.io.
Why did you choose 12 people for Satoshi NFT?
Twelve is a special number. There are 12 months in a year and 12 constellations. We believe 12 symbolizes time and space. So this implies that Satoshi Nakamoto exists everywhere, always. I selected 11 influential representatives of the cryptocurrency industry as the creation objects of the Satoshi NFT project. Their businesses cover different sub-sectors related to bitcoin. These representatives include bitcoin miners such as Jihan Wu, promoters such as Michael Saylor and Vitalik Buterin, as well as core operators such as Adam Back and Hal Finney. All these representatives will receive a Satoshi NFT airdrop from us. The twelfth influential representative is the most important part of our concept, he is a common person who believes in BTC! Can you tell us more about the total supply and the distribution?
The total amount is 200 and 60 will be pre-minted. Eleven out of the 60 will be sent to the wallets of the representatives mentioned above. Then 17 out of the 60 will be sent to the core team members and the contributors of our project. The remaining 32 will be pre-sold for the earliest liquidity providers on the Ethereum blockchain. Another 140 will then be publicly sold for the community.
What utilities do the holders of the Satoshi NFT get?
There are five main utilities that users can get. Firstly, the owner of a Satoshi NFT will automatically become an OG of SeeseaDAO, which is a DAO of the NFT marketplace (seesea.io) on Optimism and EVM-based Chain. Users will have governance and voting rights, as well as the largest airdrop from Seesea.io in the future. That means there are only 200 members in SeeseaDAO. Secondly, you can get different NFT airdrops and special rights within the whole BitBTC.money ecosystem, such as GameFi. Thirdly, you can enroll in the whitelist to buy the land of the BitBTC.money metaverse at the earliest stage. Next, you can get test invitations and priority investment opportunities for the BitBTC.money ecosystem projects. Finally, you can undertake yield farming within the whole BitBTC.money ecosystem.
Who inspired you to create this character, and what is the design philosophy?
There are many successful Asian female crypto artists, such as pplpleasr who created UNISWAP’s promotional video NFT, and Seneca who created the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. Their huge sales show that the creation of crypto art has been widely recognized. As an Asian female crypto artist, I also expect my artwork to be recognized by the Bitcoin community.
Therefore, I have carefully designed every sketch for the Satoshi NFT project, and I have given a lot of thought to them, from conception to design. I designed seven basic characteristics for each image. These include style, skin color and age, clothing, accessories and so on.
No one is currently sure which country Satoshi is from. From the date of the posting purporting to be from him on the Bitcointalk web forum, we speculate that he may be American, but his name shows that he may be Japanese. There are also many British English expressions in his speech record, so he may also come from the UK. There are also conspiracy theorists who say he is Chinese. So I created a lot of elements from different countries in the design to imply that he could be from any country in the world.
