McDonald's Enters NFT Market With McRib: Here's How You Can Win One

McDonald's Corp MCD -0.56 percent (Get Free Alerts for MCD) is the latest big name brand to enter the non-fungible token market, which is rapidly increasing.

What Happened: McDonald's is unveiling its first-ever NFT in honor of the McRib's 40th anniversary._

"They've demonstrated their passion for this wonderful, yet elusive sandwich by sneaking into our DMs asking 'when is the McRib coming back?' and building a locating tool where fellow fans can record McRib sightings." In a news statement, McDonald's remarked, "We're offering them the chance to experience it year-round...digitally."
McDonald's will give out the NFTs to a chosen group of Twitter followers. For a chance to win an NFT, fans must follow McDonald's on Twitter and repost the Sweepstakes Invitation tweet from November 1 to November 7.

Beginning Nov. 1, a limited-edition digital collectable featuring the iconic sandwich will be available..

Why It's Important: When the McRib is offered in restaurants, it has developed a cult-like following. In a relatively low-cost marketing event, McDonald's might create further press for the popular menu item.

On Nov. 12, the restaurant will choose ten fans to get the limited-edition McRib NFT.
