    How does downvotes even change this? You don't get notified of mentions if there is a downvote? Not even sure how that would work.

    I mean the change where downvoted comments are hidden vs not hidden. I don't see how it matters to this.

    Every problem (like shitty notifiers) is not a core platform issue.

    Well, I can give lots of examples, but a good one is cemalbaba who drops endless dick pics in the comment section when he got flagged.
