In today’s world of social media “crave” and photography boom, it is safe to say that it is essential to look all good and presentable in pictures. Or what’s the essence of posting pictures on instagram, Facebook and the likes if you don’t look or appear photogenic. Being photogenic is an art because you don’t want to be seen looking traumatized in pictures. However, some people get a bit nervous when it comes to taking group shots or selfies. Some on the other hand, carry what I tagged the “Alpha glam” look all day and anytime with or without make-up or makeover while others carry the opposite.
This is not to say that being photogenic is all about a beautiful or handsome face. What you really need is to learn your, good sides, best poses and angles then keep on slaying pictures. The next time you stand in front of a camera, the following simple tips will give you the best click.

Be in relaxed state.
To get good and nice shots, it is important to put yourself in a relaxed mood. Adjust, breathe in and out, try to close and open your eyes little by little, remember something crazy and funny then smile as much as possible.

Let your tongue be behind the teeth.
While you are trying to smile as much as you can, another trick is that you let your tongue stay just behind your teeth. Doing this enables you to have a perfect grin. You don’t want to end up spoiling the whole thing by having too wide grin you know. It is also important you smile with your face so that it looks real and natural

Instead of “Cheese”, say something else.
People often say “cheese” when having group shots. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, cheese is kind of archaic and saying it make your smile look fake and unreal so try to say to something else that can make your face look relax such as Tuesday, Thursday or rather say money. You can be creative about this.

Always show the left side of your face.
This tip appears to do the whole trick. The left side of the face is more attractive and appealing than the right. Scientifically, left cheeks show more emotion which makes it look more attractive

Know where to stand in group pictures
In order not to look larger than you are, it is essential you know where to stand in group pictures. Avoid staying closest to the camera where you will look too big and if you are a short person, do not stand by the side. Just stick yourself to the middle to avoid attention.

Wear a simple foundation.
This is especially for ladies. It is safer to wear moderate foundation and powder since it could be seen clearly in pictures which give a heavy and fake look. So, just cover your face with a single layer of foundation sufficient to give the glow in the shot.

Stand and practice before a mirror.
Weird? Yes, but it helps. You need to practice and test run your look and poses before finally taking the shots. This will enable you to get the best angles and poses.
