So after a while of not being online, I finally had a chance to review and check out a few events happening on steemit, as well as a few ICOs.
One that caught my eye was bitnautic, a decentralized shipping platform, dedicated to procuring, developing and launchingshipping services like cargo, freighting etc, via blockchain technology.
The bitnautic platform is slated to provide a better access to shipping services that benefit the wider ocean and sea using community.
Bitnautic, a new gateway?
Bitnautic promises to create a platform which solves some of the problem of the shipping industry such as security and trust.
A platform where ship owners can list their ships and update their positions, as well as cargo owners doing same. A platform where accurate tracking of ships, goods and services within the dhipping world can be done and not be tampered with via blockchain technology.
Through bitnaughtic, information about certain ships or cargos, shipping and booking details , can be effectively placed on a blockchain, creating a trustess system, since all data collected is verified by several computers and any error or manipulation is easily detected.
THe above also makes the bitnaughtic platform a more secure platform. Information about a ship destination, its crew, its mission and cargos, etc , can be easily stored on the blockchain
Perhaps one of the biggest news from the bitnautic team is the creation of a market place for interactions between cargo owners, ship sailors, and basically everyone involved in theshipping process.
The value of the cargos and ships essentially is tokenized on the BTNT token.
The switch to blockchain technology to run the bitnautic softwares is simply due to the security and rest of mind that comes with knowing that.
So to repcap, bitnautic is a platform that is aimed at providing solutions to the problems bugging the shipping industry, using blockchain technology.
Token details
The bitnautic token is an ERC-20 token. It has a symbol, BTNT. The ICO will be conducted using ETH as a means of payment, 1ETH will be equal to 500 BTNT.
The softcap is the minimum requirment needed to start and run a project, and for bitnautic, it is around 5000eth(or 2million USD)
The hardcap for the bitnautic ICO stands at 50,000 ETH(or 20million USD).
THe bitnautic program starts its pre-ICO on may 1st and ends on may 31st 2018
The main ICO starts on june 1st and ends on july 30th 2018
THe total supply of the bitnautic token is 50million BTNT, of which up to 70% (35millionBTNT) will be offered for the ICO.
