Commitments, these are some of the things that many people today don’t pay attention to. When this word is spoken, many people often feel its related to relationships, but commitments are a whole lot of things. You as a person could be committed to pretty much anything you set your mind to. For today though I thought to talk about being committed to living a healthy life.
It wasn’t too long ago that I stopped being a couch potato and started living life like a normal healthy human. From all my years of sitting, lying and generally staying comfortable(lazy), I realized that I was not as I were thinking, comfortable. Not the slightest.
I still had back pains, I still had cramps, I still fell sick. All these things I always assured myself that wouldn't happen because I was comfortable. Life generally was just there, neither moving forward nor backward, It felt like I had lost a purpose.
You may be thinking how healthy living could be connected with purpose and all those sort of talk,. Well staying healthy renews your mind to so many possibilities, its like peeling the first and dry layer of an onion to reveal a fresh plum layer underneath. When you renew your mind, you become that fresh layer, you're able to think again.
Staying healthy though, has to be a commitment, a long term one at that. Like I said in the beginning, so many people may be committed to things they didn’t even know about. You may be committed to staying a couch potato for life., and you wouldn't even know!
a philosophy of doing things tomorrow instead of today has a nasty side effect of making you your postpone chores indefinitely
Life is more than sitting down!
Yes, life is more than sitting down on one spot 24/7. I propose we all go out and exercise as much as possible.
Let the body feel the heat, let your life be renewed in the glory of the afternoon sun and sweat dripping down your body. Apart from freeing up pores that may have been blocked by years of non exercising, you would be surprised how a few jogs per day could brighten your mood, elevate your joy , and crush depression.
Now I am not saying that I am a doctor to know all these, but I know for sure that the wind in my face as I job down the creaky road has something to it that can only be described as relaxing.
Going out and interacting with other individuals is one sure way of staying healthy, at least within your body as well.Humans are social beings, and as social beings not interacting with society can cause a lot of problems, primarily depression and all sorts of nasties that come with it.
Live life for the win
All in all, life should be lived like there isn't going to be a tomorrow. That is how I see things now. So take a breath, and jump off that cliff of comfort onto a world of adventure and healthy living.
