Nigeria-Obasanjo is a work in progress

Well, with all his shortcomings, Obasanjo is to me, the single most important personality in Nigeria. He has led a charmed life all his life. His friend spared him from the knowledge of the 1966 coup which, if he knew about it could have affected his career negatively. He received the instrument of Surrender from Philip Effiong of the Biafran army in 1970. He became H.O.S when MM was killed by Dimka. He survived plans to kill him and in his stead, his tormentor, Abacha died. He came out of prison to become President. Every single institution in Nigeria has OBJ's input. Institutions like EFCC, ICPC, SMEDAN, etc were created by him. If OBJ sneezes, you better watch out for the accompanying cold that many around will catch. So, call him all the bad names you want, just don't forget that the man has an unfinished assignment and there is the hand of Fate in his affairs. OBJ is still work in progress not a finished product.
