My Advice to All Jobless Young Nigerians and the youth at large: Change Your Situation Today.

Tell your jobless ones to stop searching for jobs that are illusive. Stop wasting the precious time. Move out of the huge group of first degree-holders. The source of your misery may be the degree you presently hold. Remember many years ago when u were seeking admission the universities changed your lives by pushing u into departments/ fields that were not your choice. U graduated with degrees that can hardly put food on the table.
Now do the needful today to change your situation. Quickly start a masters degree program; after that get a PhD. Or get a new degree/ new skills that can put food on the table. You can even do a masters degree in a different area: e.g a person with a first degree in international relationship or sociology or history & diplomacy can do masters in human resource management etc. Clever people do so, specially in developed countries, and in many developing countries.
If sociology degree etc has starved u for years, move away from it, and acquire degree or skills in a totally different field or fields, with better job prospects. A Nigerian lady in UK with a degree in agriculture could not get employed for years; life was a nightmare for her and family. Eventually she acquired a new degree/ new skills in a totally different field, psychiatric nursing, with plentiful job opportunities. Now she is gainfully employed, and has even forgotten those excruciating / extremely frustrating years wasted In futile job-hunting.
Arm yourself today with higher degrees or acquire new skills, even multiple skills and the table will miraculously turn for you: this time it is jobs that will endlessly hunt for you.
You have the power to change your situation today.
Don’t waste even one day of your lives; keep trying until you succeed. When you succeed, please don’t stop. Continue to work hard, and that will improve your situation further.
