The Ideal Nigeria

Happy democracy day🤔

For years, there has always been the futuristic hope that our generation would correct the myopic mistakes made by our forefathers, who achieved Independence for the country, almost 58 years ago. But, our generation is worse than the ones before.

Huh?

We all have failed Nigeria and ourselves. The Pre/Post independence generations have been wasted and the potentials to make Nigeria a great country have been left untapped, if not lost already.
Our basic and social amenities are in a state of comatose. Our sick Leaders and Politicians and other wealthy ones travel abroad to get medical attention, because the medical care in our country is only meant for the "masses" and not them.

National morality has changed, Patriotism, Dedication to Selfless duty has become a thing of the past. The Noble Principle of the Rule of Law has been crippled.
Haven't you heard of a man who was arraigned for stealing N10, 000 and was sentenced for an imprisonment of 30 years, in a summary trial? Or a man sentenced to death for stealing chickens.
But a Politician steals Billions of Naira and will never see the prison because his case will be stalled and whenever he goes to court, he behaves like a super star instead of the super criminal he is.

Farida Waziri had once said,
"It's Nigeria you see people taken to court and they are smiling and waving as if they are political heroes. Meanwhile they are being arraigned for criminal cases and they are waving like Mandela.”

The only principle that makes sense now is the amount of money in your bank account.

What has then blurred our dream for an Ideal Nigeria?

The dream of Nigeria having an uninterrupted power supply.
A Nigeria in which our Educational system is Top-notch, which is jealously in competition with those of the World powers, with strike-free and violent-free.
In which everyone is gainfully employed, irrespective of his Educational background.
In which all roads are tarred and motorable.
The Nigeria of our dream is one in which Elections are free, fair and credible, and in which competent and God - fearing persons are voted into power.
In which Nigerians are being tolerable, irrespective of their religion and tribal differences.
An Ideal Nigeria in which people from all over the world come to receive treatments from our hospitals and other standard health facilities.
This dream of an Ideal Nigeria is not a flying horse. I am one of the Nigerians who strongly believe that there is a very big hope for the country starting from our generation.

YES WE CAN.

As Timi Dakolo has rightly put in his song, "Great Nation"
"We’re all we have, we’ll defend our land
We believe in this nation, and we know we’ll get there
We’re all we have, we’ll defend our land
We believe in Nigeria and the promise she holds
And that one day we’ll shine like the sun
We’re a great nation"

Happy Democracy Day to you too

So when is the future?
When our generation get old just like our father?

Lol, anyways we are the future only if we are ready to take our rightful belongings from them..

So when are we gonna be ready?

"It's Nigeria you see people taken to court and they are smiling and waving as if they are political heroes. Meanwhile they are being arraigned for criminal cases and they are waving like Mandela.”

I remember one of the PEPs arraigned (by the current administration in Nigeria) for corruption reading newspaper with legs crossed and a "And so what" attitude in court! That picture, which went viral at the time, depicts, in practical terms, what was wrong with Nigeria and with how it pursues it anticorruption campaign.

Perhaps one day we will get it right.

The corrupt state can not be allowed, making the country poor. let's fight the corruption of state money

Nigeria can only be better when our leaders all dead and didn't think it can be possible so I don't think anything is getting better for Nigeria
