So What's Trending Nigeria? (WTN) - 04 got lost in transit and therefore couldn't happen but we are here with Episode 05. It's been a little over a month since the announcement of Project Bigwaves and the trending page is beginning to reflect the changes we all hoped for at the onset. All of a sudden, the #nigeria community has become more active and it has become commonplace to see us drop comments on posts by other community members.

As much as growth within the community is exciting, it's also important to not forget to let this growth also reflect to the outside world. Many of us have started to draw regular visitors and upvotes to our posts from people outside the #nigeria community which is very commendable.

So what are the stats saying about our current activities?

As at the time of writing this post, the following are what's trending;

Some Stats

98.95% - the increase in number of posts over the last month (from the announcement). There are now a total of 949 posts in #nigeria. This is an increase of 472 from 477 posts. We've seen a tremendous level of growth so far but there's still the need to encourage the use of the #nigeria tag. Tell everyone you invite.
259.95% - the increase in total payouts. Total payout has moved from 8,515.453 SBD to 30,652.094 SBD. An increase of 22,136.641 SBD.

Newbies

Thumbs up to the team of curators that have contributed immensely to the growth of @onequality's Project Bigwaves. The simultaneous use of Project Bigwaves and #genesisproject by some Nigerians is a bit confusing. I know @onequality is a major contributor as regards Project Bigwaves which selects Nigerian posts for Curation. What I don't understand is #genesisproject. Are they all together or they are different initiatives?

Project Bigwaves was set up to grow the entire community and @onequality was selected as one of the curators so we are only a tiny part of the entire project.

#genesisproject helps onboard new users and mentors or at least attempts to guide them while they find their footing in Steemit. We believe every initiative can co-exist as long as we are all after the same goal which is to grow the Nigerian community.

@onequality it's indeed hilarious to see the immense advantages you're adding to this community. I aspire to grow on steemit hence knowing more about the bigwave projects and Genesisprojects. I'll appreciate any further steps to success. Proudly Nigerian. Also much thanks for your support on my works. It's very helpful.
