So I have being in the fashion industry now actively for 2years and in business for 4. I have seen most of my wedding clients battle with the decision of getting a regular suit for their wedding suit or a Tuxedo suit.
Most go for a regular suit mostly because it has a flexible wear after the Big day....
For me I think it's better to get a tux instead.
if you Think about it, Like the bride, your suit should be spectacular on wedding day, not like an everyday outfit!
Your suit should be peculiar from everyone in the crowd.
Very resently, I had an awkward moment with a client 3weeks ago while styling him at the church wedding ceremony in Ibadan, Nigeria 🇳🇬.
We had decided on a navy blue 2piece suit for his wedding suit. He insisted on that because himself and his bestman were both real estate agents with a reputable firm in Lagos so a navy blue suit would come in handy for work purposes later.
I understand this, and am all for it. But style it differently. There are so many ways to make a navy blue suit look different from how it regularly looks.
Again the client insisted on a stripe red necktie because he likes stripes and red was part of the color of the day.
Fast forward to the church wedding ceremony, mhen, you would not believe the look. All the pastors came in black and navy blue suits, with various shades of stripe Neckties. And you trust Nigeria with our order of photograph. When snapping all the pastors stood with the couple, they all looked like a bunch of Ushers with the bride looking odd.😟
As if that was not enough, immediately we got to the reception, the waiters who were servicing rice, wore red strip tie and blue trousers. 😱
I felt lik crying.😧 I could tell he was feeling same too when our eyes met across the room. For some reason, it looked like every one wanted striped ties that day.
As a groom on your wedding day, you want to be the center of attention. A Tuxedo look gets you that. Nothing else. You can opt for an ivory tux or a print Tuxedo with black Lapel details. Looks classic everytime.
Stay classy guys.
Lmao... U funny.

I think it really depends on the vibe you're going for at the wedding. When my brother got married, he wanted all the groomsmen, including the best man, to wear matching suits. It made for some great photos and a cohesive look overall. If you're aiming for a classic and sharp style, like the ones you can find at Gentleman's Guru - https://www.gentlemansguru.com/product-category/wedding-tuxedos/, matching suits can definitely pull that off. It also made my brother feel extra special having everyone in sync with his attire. Ultimately, it's about what makes you feel comfortable and confident on such a big day.
