My visit to Idanre Hills in Ondo state, Nigeria was really a fantastic one. I went with bunch of friends so it was not bad at all. We all had fun climbing the six hundred and sixty (660) steps together and we couldn't feel the stress at all.
While we had our tour guide with us, we get to see different places at different points as we made our way to the top of the hill.
There are three stopovers on the hill where we stopped at different climbing intervals to relax before we proceed in our touring activities and checking out the beauty of nature. On the hill, we saw Owa's Palace which was said to have been in existence since the seventeenth century.
We also saw the Shrines, the Old Court, the Belfry, Agbooogun foot print on the Agbagba Hill where we all get to put our legs of different sizes and it fit perfectly due to the mysterious way of contacting and expanding to fit all feet and we were made to believe that anybody whose leg does not fit inside is either a witch or wizard.
We saw the Thunder Water (Omi Aopara), unreadable letters, home of Chief Mallam who lives up the hill with his wife and and children, the Wonder rock, the ancient primary school, the ancient market, the spiritual water (Arun river),
burial mounds and grounds and so many more.
There are various and mysterious things of nature to see and talk about on the hill, I just can't tell it all. You need to visit the place to have better view of what I'm talking about. It is really an interesting place to visit. Try it and thank me later.
Thanks.
