Poverty, Selfishness And Economic Instability Has Led To So Much Cruelty In My Land!

I was taking a walk, which is a pastime that I enjoy because walking the streets, I kind of see the things that go on and I get to appreciate the sensory of my environment. Even though life in these times may be rough, appreciating nature gives a sense of relief and hope for the future.

one day I came across a scenario which rose an eyebrow, a little lad was caught with stolen food items, by the time got there he was already beaten black and blue for his crime , but it did not just stop there, he was set on fire right before my eyes, and the little child burnt to death. This is one of the cruelty that going on in my land, a place where now people have 'no fear of God', no pity for the poor, it is a place where the rich exploits the poor so that they can get richer while  the poor people get poorer. Within this poor or low classed environment, cruelty is so rampant, cruelty is so intense that you begin to wonder if you a dwelling among animals.

Recently, about a week ago, a man was caught with three children that he wanted to use for ritual sacrifice, the man placed the children in a bag, one of them had already died. The children were not his children, he actually kidnapped the children. After the man was beaten till he was black and blue, he finally confessed and said that he was told to bring children to sell to people who would use them for money rituals.

kidnapping has become very rampant in our society, it has become the order of the day, a way of life when young people who are unemployed and need money, they would just kidnap a child and ask for ransom or even kidnap adults and ask for ransom. The same week all these terrible things happened, we got news that a tunnel very close to where we live was where criminal dumped dead bodies. A little  child of about six years old was found with her mother who was pregnant but already dead. The child managed to escape and cry out for help. When the police arrived at the scene, they found lots of dead bodies that were recently slaughtered. This is what my land has become.

About three days ago, just to blocks away from our home, another man was burnt to death for kidnapping a child that was to be used for money ritual, this is how my land  has become, people now sell human being body parts as food, some sell them for rituals. Nowadays when you ride the public transportation, you do not know the dangers that you are facing, when you are going out, you do not know what dangers awaits you out there, everything now is a risk. life itself has become a risk. This is not the land that I know. This is what the poverty, selfishness and economic instability of my land has led men to practice. Men now are cruel!

Are you now talking about our educational system? Even in our educational system just as I wrote on one of my Posts. Our educational system though it was in those days below standard, but we were still able to produce men of substance, men to reckon with, men whose works and deeds are still speaking even till today, their works are recognized globally, but now our educational system is nothing to write home about. Parents now buy the answers to examinations for their children, they buy the questions for the examination before the date so they could find the answers at home, and to them they have passed their West African Examination(WAEC). Parents now not only buy the answers to West African Examinations, but they do it right in the presence of the children and corrupt them mind of the children. Now the kids go to school and they do not listen to what the teacher is saying, they believe at the end of the day that results will either be bought for them, people will impersonate them to help them to write their paper, or answers will come during the examination.

Can you imagine the last examination that was conducted in West Africa? There was a website  that was created just for this exam, on that site all the questions  and the answers for the exam where published on that site. Students would just log on to the website and get all the answers even before the examination begin. Is this the future of my land? Where we no longer have individuals or children who will be leaders of tomorrow? where we will have no know how of anything? Is this the future of my land? These parts of my land cries out daily for the blood shed of innocent people, in the northern part of the land, killing of Christians and bombings are done without care of humanity and lives. When you sleep at night you are not even sure of how you will wake up the next morning, or what awaits you when you wake up because a person can be killed even while their sleeping, upon you sleep your home can be burnt along with you and your family. When you go to church to worship on a Sunday, you don't  even know if you are going to come out of the service that day, you don't know if there are bombs planted within the  church premises, you don't know if the church will be raided with guns. This has been the situation of my land.

Even if yoyu decide to be a farmer and you are growing crops in your farm, one day you can just go to your farm and the herdsmen will just open fire on you. This is the situation in my land. This is the land I used to know, the land that we were one another's keeper, the land that grows in love, the land where foreigners come and they are safe, they land where foreigners make money and are able to return to their homes. Now even investment is nothing to write home about. People who have been investing in this country are already withdrawing their investment outside the country and now we are left with nothing.

I strongly feel pity for the generation that will come after me because I don't even know if my land had a future. As of this moment, there are talks going about with regards to dividing the land. Who are those calling about the division of the land? It is the rich again, against the poor. Thy want to give guns to the poor so that they can kill one another. This is the situation of my land and I wonder when the rich has finished killing the poor, who they are going to rule in this land.
