Operation Deep Punch II: See Photo Updates Of Success In Sambisa
By Awoolusola1451 /

Sambisa Forest has become too hot for Boko Haram and they are now escaping to neighbouring communities. The Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Nigerian Airforce with help from troops from neighbouring countries like, Chad, Niger and Cameroon have successfully taken back territories occupied by the insurgence of Boko Haram in the North East.

Maj Gen Rogers Nicholas, Theatre Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE on 14th Feb 2018, held a press briefing in which he gave updates on the ongoing Operation DEEP PUNCH II, that was staged to wipe out the remnants of Boko Haram hiding in the Sambisa forest and occasionally comes out of their hideouts to attack soft targets.

Nicholas also commended the Nigerian Airforce for the air support given to the ground troops and the frequent aeriel bombardment on any perceived camp of the insurgence in the sambisa forest.

The Nigerian Army working closely with the Nigerian Airforce has taken advantage of the favourable weather condition to have dealt an heavy and decisive blow on the formation of the insurgency and this has made their commander Abubakar Shakau, took to his heels abandoning his followers to continue the fight.

He was described as a coward by the military for deserting the theatre dressed like a woman in hijab and occasionally interchanged his hijab form black to blue.

In a recent report, the Army has placed a bounty of N3m Naira on Abubakar Shakau for any useful information that could led to his arrest.
