Use e.g. (exempli gratia) to give examples.

Don’t use “for e.g.” or “etc.” with “e.g.”:

I love breakfast foods, e.g., eggs, pancakes, bacon. → ✔ 🥞🥓

I love breakfast foods, e.g., eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc. → ❌

Use i.e. (id est) to provide clarification. We do not use it to give a list of examples.
