Some People Miss Use Opportunities

He walked into the lounge and straight to our table. He hailed me, hailed my friend and sat down with us.

"Guy, you sabi this dude?"

"Hmm, Beck I don't know him. But you know how guys behave na. Let's accommodate him. Nothing."

I hissed.

After some minutes, the guy called the waiter and requested for a red cup. "Guy abeg, let me pour small wine for myself here."

My friend pushed the bottle of wine to the new guy's side. What was small pouring ended up been half of the bottle.

I was just looking in silence.

"Beck, what's up? Say something."

The guy drank half of the content in his cup, went out and bought suya.

When he returned, he poured more wine for himself this time around and held the suya nylon in his hand.

I was already boiling at this point.

The new guy noticed my face and left our table.

I turned to my friend. "Guy, I don't like this thing. How can you just allow a stranger to finish our wine and he didn't even drop his suya on the table for us to eat with him."

My friend laughed.

"Martin Beck Nworah the analyser. These things are nothing. It's wine abi? Let them bring one more."

He ordered for a new bottle and I told them to add plastic water.

After ten minutes, the same guy returned to our table, locking hands with a lady.

"Babe, meet my real guys, my main people."

He sat down and the lady sat on his left lap. He stretched out his hand to collect the new bottle of wine and I held his hand.

"Guy, what's your problem? Respect yourself here or you find another table."

My friend was just laughing.

"Oga boss nawaoo, why you go dey change am for me in front of this babe. Nawaooo"

I drank my water and didn't utter a word.

Around here, people make assumptions too much if you give them any opportunity.

I am not doing again.

Till we get to the Promised Land, I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
