** Update October 2018 **
The issue I was having with no audio being recorded to the Atomos Ninja Flame from the P1000 has been fixed. Apologies, it was user error on my part. I did have the correct settings on the camera for the clean hdmi out set to 'On' and was in Movie Manual Mode, but the problem was some setting on the Ninja Flame. I changed so many things on the Ninja that I don't know exactly what triggered it, sorry about that, but all is working now with audio going through.

Also, as you will see in my later videos, I am enjoying the P1000 though still learning each day. Adding an external mic helps so much with sound and it's great to now be able to use a larger external monitor. It's also so nice to be able to focus with the zoom ring at the end of the lens and I love being able to change shutter and aperture during live recording in Movie Manual Mode - that's a winner for me.

About the only main issue I still have is that Nikon's ML-L7 bluetooth remote won't work when the hdmi cord is plugged into the external monitor. I'm hoping that is something which can be fixed in a future firmware update. That bluetooth remote is sweet! You can even zoom and adjust focus with it, making it another winner in my book. :)

There are limitations like with any other camera and a lot of my initial reactions were from my own high expectations which was wrong on my part - apologies again. :)
