Hello hello!
So, ah. it's Day 4 of my training for my American Ninja Warrior and , ah, not the best.
The overall soreness has definitely overtaken all of the bits... and because I am pumped about going snowboarding tomorrow I was totally treating myself carefully today.

I totally ran a great time though... I don't even know why, I was just in a great mindset of getting it done. I ran my hilly 3.8km in 26:50.83 which is a minute and a half quicker than my time two days ago... and I'm still walking up the hill. I really just wanted to focus on improving, and you can't really improve unless you push it.
I totally bailed on speed work today, in light of not wreaking myself for tomorrow. Getting onto the slopes in an already sore state is not the best idea in the world and just didn't want to compound it with moooooooore.
My abs have been super sore today... and so I was very excited to see this exercise. I won't lie... it's crazy hard and I was doing all the scrunch face for the last 40 flutters... but it was exciting because you can totally just (literally) grit your teeth and hold on.... and then it's done. I might have even finished it in under a minute... which was bliss compared to yesterday.

It says 'complete throughout the day' but of course I didn't look at it until just before... so smashed it out in one shot.
So, ah, here's the thing.
My friend contacted me about doing a no junk food challenge for 30 days starting on Monday... which I'm totally pumped about... but it did break something in my brain and despite having plenty of food in the house but being alone (my partner flies back from Aus on Sunday), I completely smashed a whole large pizza.
I'm disgusted AND proud of myself... in the way that only dudes can be.

I don't want to get my hopes up... but my elbow was definitely feeling better today than it has in a long time. I didn't get around to any heat treatment, but I did stretch it a bit. I have one exercise that specifically hurts it a little bit, and that was really the only time today that I felt that pinch. So we'll see.
Did lots of stretching and flexibility work today... gotta be in fine shape for those slopes!

Hey Adam,
Great to hear about your goals for 2019. Get strong and I am sure you will get to where you need to be. You are working with a really intense sport that doesn't allow much room for mistakes which is very different from where I am heading in the next few months, so there is a lot of admiration from my side.
I look forward to hearing more about it and will be sending positive vibes your way.
Regards Vince

I've crushed a few pizzas in my day -- well done, sir.
