Few people do remember this because when the Legend of Zelda first was released we didn't have the internet or Twitter for Karens and Chads to completely lose their minds over the fact that there was some symbols in a game that someone, somewhere, might find offensive.
We were a lot less crazy back in 1985 I guess. I will admit that I was very young when this game was released and absolutely loved it. I didn't really even know what swastikas meant either.

It is frequently featured on lists of things that "Nintendo wants you to forget" or something along those lines. Was it in bad taste? Probably. Was it meant to hurt anyone or their feelings? I don't think so. Was it anti-Semitic? Almost certainly not.

The idea behind this dungeon was that you needed to travel to all of the ends of each in order to get the necessary key in order to open the door to the boss room which is over on the right where you would fight this flying 4-headed crab thing that was actually one of the easier bosses in the game.

It's a good thing that cancel culture didn't really exist back in 1985 because if it did, one of the most amazing game franchises of all time might have been eliminated just because someone made a "mistake" and didn't consider everyone in the world's feelings when they were designing it.
Zelda was the first game of its type in that it was the very first game to have on cartridge saves (no lengthy passwords) it was somewhat open-world and there were also a ton of hidden areas that were totally optional as far as progressing through the game was concerned. Oh, and the cartridge was GOLD too.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I bought this game but man oh man did it take over my life for a while. I would play for hours on end and remember getting in trouble for sneaking out of my bedroom after bedtime to play "just a little more" on multiple occasions.
Ignorance is bliss I guess. I am sure there are some wonderful conspiracy theories around this
