The Nintendo console has recorded the best start in the history of home consoles in France. One million copies should find takers by March.
A comeback ... A little less than a year after its launch, the new console Nintendo, the Switch, became the home console that has recorded the best start in history. 911,000 copies of the new machine from the Japanese manufacturer sold in France in 44 weeks.
A million by March. With a little more than 900,000 copies, the Switch exceeds the PlaySatation 4 which had passed 650,000 copies at the same time. The Wii, which had held the record so far, had seduced 703,000 fans almost ten years ago. Most importantly, the mid-portable, mid-fixed console in less than a year exceeds the total sales of the Wii U throughout its sales period. "We are not at all in the same dimension," says Philippe Lavoué, director of Nintendo France at the World, while he hopes to sell a million copies in total by the first anniversary of the console in March.
Super Mario Odyssey very popular. On the side of the games, it is Super Mario Odyssey yet released only at the end of October which is the most popular. Plumber's adventures attracted 512,000 players in France. Next are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 508,000 copies and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with 410,000 copies, a very good performance for Link.
