Swedish academy suspended for investigating allegations of sexual misconduct suspended the year's Nobel Prize in Literature.
In a statement on Friday, the Swedish Academy said that the 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature will be announced as a 'reserve prize' with a prize of 2019. The decision was taken at a weekly meeting in Stockholm on Thursday.
For the first time in November, French photographer Jean-Claude-Arnold was accused of sexual assault, who was running a project funded by the Academy. 18 women were accused of sexual harassment against him. Although Arnold denied these allegations.
The permanent secretary of the academy Andor Alsson said that this decision has been taken to bring back the confidence of the academy before the announcement of the next Nobel Laureate.
The award for the first time since 1943 was postponed.
